John Warr - House Manager

John Warr has been the House Manager since December of 2017.

He started out at The Step House as a resident in 2016. His sobriety date is August 1, 2016.

After he completed the 1-year program, he decided to stay on to help out on a volunteer basis after Royce Sherrick's passing.

John has a unique passion for helping the men who come to The Step House, realizing that there is a great need for men who come to the house to see that men, like him, can rebuild relationships with their families and gain self respect and happiness.

He cares about each and every person that he meets and hopes to help them with his guidance and experience.

Royce and Kristy Sherrick

Co-Founders of The Step House, LLC June 16, 2013

In July of 2017 Royce Sherrick passed away, leaving an amazing legacy

of  ,The Step House behind.  In 2010, Royce met Kristy and an incredible love story followed. Royce and Kristy were true soul mates and shared a history that most couples don't have. They married on 11-11-11 and became marriage partners and business partners and The Step House flourished.

Royce was compassionate and tough at the same time. He knew what the residents were going through, and he knew what they needed. And he knew it takes a long-term commitment to make it work. Royce made the commitment to be a mentor, guide and leader. He never asked any of the residents to do anything he hadn't done, or wouldn't do. Through faith and trust, Royce helped many, many people become better people and truly cared for everyone. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back or the cap off his head to help you out. Or don a Santa Claus suit for the children in the community. He opened his home to anyone that needed help, and created an amazing program to continue helping people and his community.

Royce lived in Truth. He showed all of us what it was like to live in Faith and to truly believe in God.
After his passing Kristy Sherrick continued working with men at The Step House to help them realize their worth and potential in recovery from alcoholism and addiction.

There were over 500 people at Royce's Life Celebration from California, Alabama, Ohio, and throughout the state of New Mexico.
